Happy December to all our Town Duck friends!

And just like that, it’s December. A stroll down Main Street will remind you of all that is magical this time of year. A recent visit from out-of-town friends remarked on the charm and quaintness of Old Town Warrenton. I agree! In the daily comings and goings, routines, and schedules, it is sometimes cast into the periphery just how special this town is and how fortunate we are.

Here at The Town Duck we feel that fortune in the way of being be well stocked to bring the holidays to you and yours (not so easy in an age of delays and supply chain snafus). Despite a reroute from parade traffic, the Villa Jolanda Holiday Prosecco arrived yesterday (grateful for our driver and fielding a Saturday drop) just in time for easy gifting. We are already down to 6 remaining cases. If this is something you look forward to annually, please don’t delay. Other items you won’t want to hold out on include our two (about to be one) tables of holiday sweet and savory foods. Despite an effort to re-order Lebkuchen and a few other very popular items, no such luck before January.

We still have a nice selection of Holiday Cards in boxed sets, beautiful rolls of wrapping paper and gift tags for your packages and wines to give. I expect a replenishment of holiday candles this coming week for gatherings at home. Festive cocktail napkins and guest towels still in decent supply but are moving off the shelf. The same goes for linens from Pomegranate and Garnier Thiebaut. The ever-popular Flour Sack Towels will hopefully be replenished in the next week or so. Wrapping one of these towels around a bottle of wine is perfect for holiday gifting.

The popular, Lynchburg, Virginia Meanwhile Back on the Farm bags and fun, bright Consuela line out of Austin, Texas are in and great for a range of ages and styles. Campo de’ Fiori planters line the shop, Seda France holiday candles, JM Piers trays and elegant matchboxes, olive wood serving pieces, Printfresh patterned pajamas…I could go on, but just come see for yourself.

Okay, gift baskets. The Town Duck has long been synonymous with one of a kind, hand-curated gift baskets. We often get orders for these by the dozen to check off corporate/employee gifting. Anne is the fearless leader and talent behind these, and it is a full-time job. We are happy to take your orders for these up until the deadline of DECEMBER 20th. Be sure to chat soon with us and get yours on the list.  For now, the pantry and wine items we use for these baskets are in good supply, but again, not great guarantees should we need to re-order.

Lastly, you may have heard that champagne supplies are way down this season. I have found a few of our regular lines are simply not able to distribute (Bollinger and Veuve for example). We do have some delicious options though, just don’t delay (think beyond Christmas to New Year’s Eve).

A final note, to help check all your items off the list, we will be OPEN 7 days a week through December 24th, including SUNDAY HOURS from NOON-4PM. As always, please call or email with any questions. We look forward to enjoying this special season with you!
