May 2009
We will be closed on Sunday, May 10 in observation of Mother's
Day. There are many wonderful gifts in stock for Mother's Day.
The geraniums will be here early this week. We know that others
have been available earlier, but this is the perfect time for
planting them. Thank you for your patience.
FIRST ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION - MAY 2009
It is hard to believe that May 1 was one year since we moved
to our new location. Due to many delays in getting the space ready,
we were unable to have a "Reopening Celebration", so
we plan to have a month-long series of sales and events to mark
the anniversary. Throughout the month of May we will be offering
discounts on selected items and holding wine tastings, etc. There
will be a drawing for prizes at 5PM on Saturday, May 30th. Please
drop your entry in the box when you visit the shop. The prizes
are:
First - gift basket (value $150.00)
Second - leather jewelry box (value $105.00)
Third - grill basket (value $60.00).
May 4 through May 9
Pashminas - 15% off (perfect for Mother's Day)
Linens - 15% off
Juliska Stoneware - 20% off
Le Cadeaux melamine - 20% off
Wine racks - 20% off
In stock wine - 15% off case purchases (special orders not included)
Since we will be featuring different items on sale each week
throughout the month, please make sure that you are on our email
list. Our website at www.townduck.com will be updated starting
next week.
Hugues Beaulieu will be here on Friday, May8 from 4 to 8 for
a wine tasting. Look for news of other tastings. He is a lot of
fun and extremely knowledgeable. One of our best selling wines,
a Picpoul de Pinet, is named for him. Hugues was the sommelier
at The Inn at Little Washington for several years.
There are wonderful new wines in the shop at great prices. We
are expecting rosés, Proseccos and sparkling wines from
France in time for Mother's Day.
Lobster prices seem to be coming down. We may offer them this
week, but if you order, please remember that they must be picked
up Thursday. We cannot guarantee how long they will stay alive
once you take them home, but if they are stored in wet paper in
a vegetable bin in the fridge, they should last for over 24 hours.
Our Switch-Flops, OkaB's and Top-it-Off sandals are here! Think
Spring and sunshine.
Last, but surely not least, we are so happy to have Bibi back
full time after her stint as Chairman of Historic Garden Week.
It was a huge success and the visitors spoke highly of the houses
on the tour.
